On-Call Policy

Please note that if you have a true emergency you must call 911 or go to the nearest ER rather than waiting for phone call advice. The ED can contact the physician, if indicated.

As a service for established patients only, a Lakeside ENT physician can be reached after business hours and weekends for urgent medical calls by dialing any of our main office numbers. You will be prompted to leave detailed message and return number with area code. Our on-call physician will return your call as soon as possible.

Please be patient and allow up to 1 hour for a call back, as multiple calls can occur or the doctor might be in the ED/surgery actively treating a patient and unable to call back.

Please also note that if you have a ‘call blocking’ or ‘call screening’ service you may need to disable it temporarily in order to receive the doctor’s call back.

The following are not handled on-call or after business hours: making, confirming or rescheduling appts; telephone requests for medications or antibiotic treatment of infections; any prescription changes or refills (including post-op pain medications); non-urgent medical advice; phone consultations for new conditions not previously treated by our practice; calls from non-practice patients or patients not seen in over 12 months. There is a separate voice mailbox for such messages that will be handled the next business day.
